Interface Overview

Label Printing

The section is designed for printing labels and consists of 3 zones:

  1. Buttons for printing labels.
  2. Label Template. Here you can select the main label template that will be used for printing.
  3. Print Data. This is a list of products for which labels will be printed, as well as data common to all labels.

Label Template

When printing labels, the selected label template will be used. To select a template, click Choose.
If a different template is specified for the product, then this template will be used for printing.

Print data is a list of products for which labels will be printed, as well as data common to all labels.

  • Save. Stores print data in the program database. After restarting the program, the print data will be restored.

    You can restore saved print data via Actions > Load Saved Data .

  • Actions. The menu is intended for exporting the list of products, and other actions with the list of products.

    You can also print any external PDF file through the program using the corresponding menu item.

Product List

This is a table with products and product parameters, such as prices, barcodes, SKUs, discounts, units, etc.

For each product in the list, you can specify the number of labels to be printed.

The product can be a single item , the main item in the bundle , or not main item in the bundle .

Command panel

The command panel allows you to perform various actions for a product or a group of selected products.

Top buttons:

  • Refresh data. The program remembers the parameters of the last import and then you can repeat the import with one click of this button.
  • Import. Opens a window for importing products or imports products immediately if One-Click Import is enabled.

  • Add from catalog. Opens window for selecting products from the product catalog and adding selected products to the product list.
  • Add from catalog by barcode. Opens barcode input / scan window. After entering / scanning the barcode, the product is searched in the product catalog and the product found is added to the product list.

Bottom buttons on the left:

  1. Adds a new empty row to the list.
  2. Sets the values in the current column for the selected rows.
  3. Copies a row to a new row.
  4. Deletes rows.
  5. Clears the list.
  6. Moves rows higher in the list.
  7. Moves rows lower in the list.
  8. Opens a window for searching rows by various product parameters.
  9. Cancels the search.
  10. Searches for a products by barcode.
  11. Specifies the label template for selected rows.

Bottom buttons on the right:

  1. When the button is pressed, product images will be displayed, if any.
  2. When the button is pressed, only those columns will be visible, values of which are used in labels when printed or have been used in the last import. If templates are attached to products, they are also taken into account.
  3. Opens the Table Settings window.
Context menu
Product image

This area displays the image of the product. You can add, replace, and remove a product image.

You can also add a product image using Drag & Drop.

General Data

These are data that are the same for all printed labels. Information input into this section will be applied to all labels. For example, this is the name of the organization, the warehouse, the current date, the specified date, etc.

Label Designer

Label designer is designed to create new ones or modify existing label template.

Toolbar for inserting and selecting elements

  1. Element selection.
  2. Inserting a Text element.
  3. Inserting a Shape element (Rectangle, Line, Rounded rectangle, Circle, Arc, Pie, Star etc.).

  4. Inserting a Barcode element.
  5. Inserting a 2D Barcode element.
  6. Inserting an Image element.
  7. Inserting an Icon/Symbol/Clipart element.
  8. Inserting a Currency Symbol element.

Elements area

The scope contains a list of template elements, with the ability to filter by layer.

In the list of elements, the line consists of the icon of the element type, element ID, data fields displayed by the element, element formulas.

Data source fields area

The scope contains a list of data source fields.

All imported fields from an external data source, such as an Excel spreadsheet, will be shown here if you imported into Print Data. If there was no import from an external source to Print Data then all available fields will be shown here.

Fields can be dragged onto template elements to have template elements display the data for those fields, or to empty template space to create new elements that display these field data.

Template editing area

You can change the display scale by clicking the scale value 1, using the slider 3, or buttons 2 and 4.

To fit the template into the editing area, click 5.

Click 6 to view in real size.

Printer DPI 7 is used to evaluate the appearance of the template at various printer resolutions. If you ran a preview of this template, your printer's resolution will be set here.

You can also evaluate how the template will look, taking into account the restrictions of a particular license, to determine which license is right for you. To do this, use the list at the bottom right 8.

Top panel

  1. Save. Saves template changes.
  2. Undoes template changes.
  3. Redoes template changes.
  4. Template Properties. Opens the Template Properties window.
  5. Actions. Menu for various actions on the template.

  6. All Templates. Opens the template catalog to view or select a template to edit.
  7. New Template. Creates a new template.
  8. Create a copy. Creates a new template based on the current one.
  9. Preview. Opens a print preview window.
  10. Training video. Opens a browser to view the tutorial video.
  11. Order a template. Opens a browser for ordering the manufacture of a template on the program website.

Element editing panel

The panel contains some tools for editing the properties of an element or a group of elements.

  • Element Properties. Opens the Element Properties window to access all properties of the element.

Bottom panel

  • Show real data. When the button is pressed, the template will display your data from the current row of the Print Data from the Label Printing section (top menu).

    If the button is released or there is no data in the Label Printing section, then service data will be displayed in the template.

    You can change and select your data in the Label Printing section to any, which will help you evaluate the appearance of the label.

    You can also open a preview with your data by clicking on the button (top panel) and print the labels.

  • Errors and event log. When the button is pressed, a log will be displayed, which displays template errors and service messages.

Product Catalog

The section is designed to work with products that are stored in the internal database of the program.

Product List

This is a table with products and product parameters, such as prices, barcodes, SKUs, discounts, units, etc.

The products can be placed in folders 1. The level of nesting of folders is not limited.

To perform any actions with products, you can select several products at the same time, including folders. When a folder is selected, actions will be performed on all products included in this folder, including all subfolders of this folder.

Items can be in the normal state 2 or marked for deletion 3. The same applies to folders.

Direct deletion of products from the database has been replaced with a deletion mark. Marking to delete allows you to mark unnecessary products and folders for further removal from the program database. A deletion mark can be canceled and set at any time.

Items marked for deletion can be deleted from the program database via the main menu of the program, Delete Marked Items.

Command Panel

The command panel allows you to perform various actions on products or folders.

  1. Adds the selected products or product folders to the Print Data.
  2. Adds a new product.
  3. Opens a window for importing products or imports products immediately if One-Click Import is enabled.

    How to import data, see Importing Data.

  4. Creates a new folder.
  5. Creates a copy of the product.
  6. Enables editing mode for a product or folder.
  7. Marks a product or folder for deletion.
  8. Opens a window for searching products by various product parameters.
  9. Cancels the search.
  10. Searches for products by barcode.
  11. Searches for products by the date they were printed.
  12. Searches for items modified after a specific date.
  13. The menu is intended for adding selected products to the Print Data, exporting products and more.

  14. When the button is pressed, the products will be displayed in the form of a continuous list without breaking down into folders.
  15. When the button is pressed, product images will be displayed, if any.
  16. Opens the Table Settings window.

Context menu

  • Move to Folder. Opens a window for selecting a folder, where the selected products will be moved.
  • Add products to the Print Data. Adds selected products to the Print Data.
  • Add by scanning barcode. Adding new products by scanning barcodes with a scanner.
  • Barcodes. Opens the window of the subordinate catalog Barcodes for the selected products.
  • Transparency codes. Opens the window of the subordinate catalog Transparency codes for the selected products.
  • Genarate and add barcode. Generates and adds a barcode to the selected products using the settings from the Add barcodes section.

Product image

This area displays the image of the product. You can add, replace, and remove a product image.

You can also add a product image using Drag & Drop.

Operations on selected products

In this section, mass operations are carried out on the selected products.

Edit Prices

The section is intended for setting or changing the prices of products.

Prices of products can be formed on the basis of the same prices or other prices.

Prices are modified by adding/subtracting a percentage or specified value to the selected price, which is chosen as the basis.

  1. Price to be set or changed.
  2. The price is the basis from which the price will be set.
    1. Source for markup or discount:
      • Number. Markup or discount as a numeric value. Positive is markup, negative is discount.
      • Column Value. Column name, which will be the source of the markup or discount.
    2. The value of markup or discount.
    3. Select the type of markup or discount value: percentage or a specific value.
  3. Round. The rounding accuracy of the price obtained after the markup or discount.

Click 5 to set or change prices.

Add Barcodes

The section is intended for adding barcodes of products. Barcodes are added to the catalog Barcodes subordinate to this product.

  1. Barcode type.
  2. Barcode prefix.
  3. The basis for the formation of a barcode.
  4. The maximum number of barcodes that a product can have (0 - unlimited). If this value is exceeded when creating barcodes for the products, then the barcode will not be added to this product.

Click 5 to add a barcode to the selected products.

Replace values in column

The section is intended to replace or set values in a column.

  1. The column in which the values will change to the specified values.
  2. A text, number or value from the catalog, respectively, which will be set in the column.

Click 3 to replace values.

Replace values in column using formula

The section is intended to replace or set values in a column using the formula.

  1. The column in which the values will change to the values returned by the formula.
  2. Click the button to set or change the formula.

Click 3 to replace values.

Copy values from column to column

The section is intended to replace or set values in one column, using the values of the other column.

  1. The column in which the values will change to values from the other column.
  2. The column that will be the source of the values.

Click 3 to copy values.

Subordinate catalogs store data related to the current product.

To open the catalog, click on the appropriate name:

  1. The catalog stores the product barcodes.
  2. The catalog stores the Amazon Transparency codes or any other similar codes.
  3. The catalog stores the bundle of the products if the current product is a set of several products.
  4. The catalog stores products associated with the current product.

Catalogs

This submenu provides access to all the program catalogs.

Catalogs contain various background information (units, brands, countries, users, etc.) that are used in the work.
For example, in the product catalog there is a Unit column that stores the unit of measure for a given product and this unit of measure is taken from the Units catalog.

When you click on this menu item, a window will be displayed for removing items marked for deletion: products from the product catalog, catalog elements, label templates.

Clicking on this menu item will display the Program settings window.

Tools

This submenu allows you to perform various service operations.

Help

  1. Opens this user guide in a browser.
  2. Collects information for technical support of the program in archive and send to the program support department.
  3. Opens a form for contacting the program support in the browser.
  4. Opens a form for writing a review about the program in the browser.
  5. Checks for program updates. If there is a new update the program, you will be prompted to download it.
  6. Opens a window for license activation.
  7. Opens a window that will display information about the program, current license, license term, etc.

Language

Selects the interface language.

When you click on this menu item the program will be closed.

Property windows and tools

Template properties

Size

The tab is intended for setting the dimensions of the label and rounding radii.

The tab is used to set the layout of labels on the page.

  • Choose pre designed layout of labels. When you click on the button, the layout window for the layout of the labels will open.

  • Set parameters for printing on a roll of labels. When you press the button, the horizontal and vertical counts will be set to 1, the page size will be set to the template size.
  • Page orientation. Select the desired page orientation.
  • Automatic layout of labels on the print page. If the checkbox is set, labels will be placed automatically based on the size of the label and the size of the print page that will be selected in the print settings.
  • Labels Layout. You can set the number of labels horizontally and vertically, the vertical and horizontal gaps between the labels, the direction in which the labels are printed.
  • Page size. You can select the page size from the list or manually set it.
  • Margins. Here you can set margins from the edges of the page.

Layers

On this tab you can set the visibility of each layer under certain conditions. You can also configure the output of a repeating region and a footer for each layer.

Layer Visibility

You can adjust the visibility of the layer, depending on the conditions in the form of a formula. If visibility conditions are specified for a layer, then they have priority over the visibility conditions for elements in this layer.

Regions of Layer

On this tab you can configure the output parameters for the repeating area and the footer. Usually in the label, all data is output to the Static region, but if you need to display repeating information, for example, all products from a bundle, then the Repeating region is used. After a repeating area, the Footer area can be displayed, which will be located immediately after the end of the repeating area.

  • Repeating Region.
    • Data Source. Here you can select a data source for a repeating region.

    • Direction of Region Output. Specifies the direction in which the area is drawn from top to bottom or left to right.
    • Offset. Specifies the offset between repetitions.
    • Number of Repetitions. Specifies the number of repetitions.
  • Footer Region.
    • Offset. Specifies the offset between the last repeat and the footer.

Other

On this tab, you can change the name of the template, add a description to the template, mark the template as a favorite, and select the template type.

  • Template type. Here you can set the template type.

    • Normal. Template with graphic elements.
    • Printer language script. Template described in printer language: ZPL, CPCL, TSPL, EPL, DPL, etc.

Template element properties

Data Source

Here you can set the data source for displaying text information within the bounds of this element.

  • Type

    • Text. To display static text.

      You can add a currency symbol to the text with the Currency symbol button or any symbol available from the Windows character table with the Character map button.

    • Data field or formula. To display data from data fields (for example, product parameters, counters, etc.) and text using a formula.

      To select the desired data field, click on the data field selection field 1.

      To set the format for numbers or dates, click Customize the display format.

      For advanced configuration, click Change formula, Formula Designer will be opened.

    • JavaScript. Allows you to use JavaScript to display data from data fields (for example parameters of products, counters, etc.) and text.
    • Pascal скрипт. Allows you to use a Pascal script to display data from data fields (for example parameters of products, counters, etc.) and text.
  • Text format

    • Plain text. Text without formatting. Text style is set on the Text Style tab or in the left toolbar of the Designer
    • Rich Text (RTF). Text containing RTF formatting. Text style is set on the toolbar below
    • HTML. Text containing HTML formatting. Basic text style (font, font size, and font color) is set on the Text Style tab or in the left toolbar of the Designer

Barcode

The tab is visible only if the element type is Barcode or 2D Barcode.

  • Type. You can choose the desired type of barcode from over 50 options.

    If the Auto type is selected, the program will analyze the barcode length and other parameters and automatically determine the appropriate barcode type for display:

    1. If the barcode contains only numbers. Depending on the length of the barcode, UPC-E, UPC-A, EAN-8, EAN-13, or Code 128 will be selected for display.
    2. If the barcode contains more than just numbers. If the barcode contains valid Code 39 characters, then Code 39 will be selected for display, otherwise Code 128 will be selected.
  • Show Text. If the checkbox is set, then the barcode will be displayed not only in coded form, but also in the form of text and numbers.
  • Do Not Show Errors. If the flag is set, then errors in the data leading to the inability to display the barcode will not be displayed, otherwise they will be displayed on a red background instead of a barcode.

For some types of barcodes, additional settings will be shown.

Text Style

On the tab, you can specify the style of the text displayed by the element: font and its parameters, paragraph parameters, autosize of the font, etc.

  • Autosize. If the flag is set, then the font size will be calculated automatically. You can choose one of the following methods:

    1. Reduce text at the exit of element dimensions. If the text does not fit into the boundaries of the element, the font size will be reduced so that the text size fits into the element's size. The font size can not be less than the specified minimum font size.
    2. Fit the text in element size. The font size will be chosen so that the text size fits into the size of the element. The font size can not be less than the specified minimum font size and can not exceed the specified maximum font size.

Border

On the tab, you can set the border style, as well as the visibility of the sides for polygonal elements (rectangle, triangle, etc.).

In addition, you can specify the position of the vertices of the polygon relative to the boundaries of the element, which allows you to form figures other than the standard ones.

Background

Here you can set the fill style.

Image

Here you can configure the display of the image (background or dynamically acquired).

Dynamic image acquisition

  • Method of getting:

    • Don't use an image. The image will not be received and, accordingly, displayed at the time of printing or viewing. A background image will be displayed, if specified.
    • Use product image. At the time of printing or viewing, the product image will be used, if there is one, if not, the background image will be displayed, if it is set.
    • Get by link (URL or file path). At the time of printing or viewing, an image will be received at the specified link, if there is one, if not, the background image will be displayed, if it is specified.

      To set a link, click the Set formula.

      Formula examples:

      • "href="http://goods.com/image.jpg"

        Formula as a static link.

      • [ProductParam4]

        The formula will use the link or path from the Parameter 4 data field.

Shape

On this tab you can change the element type and specify parameters specific to certain types of elements.

Size and Position

Here you can specify the size and position of the element relative to the template, the rotation angle, etc.

  • Flip. Allows you to display the element flipped horizontally and/or vertically.
  • Fit size to size of displayed text. If the checkbox is set, the boundaries of the element will be set according to the size of the text displayed by the element.
  • Constraints. You can set the maximum and minimum sizes of the element for cases when these sizes can change, for example, when binding to another element or fitting the size to the size of displayed text.
  • Anchors. You can bind the sides of an element to the sides of other elements, so that when the size of another element changes, this element follows this change.

    To bind one element to each other, do the following:

    1. Choose the side of this element that will be tied (left, right, top, bottom).
    2. Select the side of the other element to which you want to bind.
    3. Select the ID of another element from the list.
    4. Set the offset between the parties to be tied.

    Binding example:

  • Layer. The number of the layer to which the element belongs.
  • Region of Layer. The type of the area of the layer to which the element belongs.

Visibility

Here you can specify the conditions in the form of a formula, under which the element will be visible.

  • Visibility

    • Always. The element will always be visible.
    • Under the condition given by the formula. The element will be visible if the condition in the formula will either be true or the formula will return 1.

      Visibility condition example:

      [ProductParam4] = "123"

      In this case, the element will be visible if the value of the Parameter 4 data field is equal to "123".

    • If the data to display is not empty and not equal to zero.
  • Not printable. If the flag is set, then the element will not be printed, but it will be visible during template editing if the visibility conditions are met.

Formula Designer

Allows you to create and edit formulas.

  1. When you click on the button, depending on the type of expression, one of the following windows will be opened:

    1. Window for selecting a value, if the expression type is the initial value of the formula or an argument functions.
    2. Window for selecting a function if the expression type is a function. In this way, the function can replace with another.
  2. When you click on the button, a window for setting the format for displaying numbers and dates will open.
  3. When you click on the button, a window for selecting a function will open. After selection, the function will be added to the end of the current formula.
  4. Deletes the selected function.
  5. Moves the selected function up the list within the current formula. Position function in the list determines the moment of its execution (the higher, the earlier).
  6. Moves the selected function down the list within the current formula. Position function in the list determines the moment of its execution (the higher, the earlier).
  7. Undoes actions taken on a formula.
  8. Repeats actions performed on a formula.
  9. Allows you to quickly insert into the formula: data field, text or symbol currencies; open symbol table.
  10. Allows you to quickly insert into the formula: data field, text or symbol currencies.
  11. When you click on the button, the formula will be available for editing as text.

    You can add a comment to a formula in the form /*Your comment*/ .

  12. Clears the formula.

Customize the display format

Allows you to set the display format for numbers or dates and times.

Number

  1. The character or string that will separate the integer part of the number from the fractional part.
  2. The character or string to be used to separate groups of numbers (thousands, million, etc.).
  3. Here you can specify in what form the number will be displayed:

    • As Is. The number is displayed unchanged.
    • Integer. Only the integer part of the number is displayed.
    • 2 Decimal Places. 2 digits of the fractional part of the number are displayed.
    • Integer and 2 Decimal Places. The integer part is displayed and only 2 fractional digits parts of a number.
    • Other. In this case, you can specify the display options for the number:

      • Number of Digits. The total number of digits displayed in the number is the integer part plus the fractional part.
      • Decimal Places. The number of displayed digits of the fractional part of the number.
      • In words. Display number in words.
  4. The character or string to be used if the value of the number is zero.
  5. If the flag is set, then the number will be padded with zeros on the left to the specified total number of displayed digits of the number.

Date and Time

  1. Display date and time format:

    • d: day without leading zero (1-2 digits)
    • dd: day with leading zero (2 digits)
    • M: month without leading zero (1-2 digits)
    • MM: month with leading zero (2 digits)
    • MMM: abbreviated name of the month
    • MMMM: the full name of the month
    • yy: year 2 digits
    • yyyy: year 4 digits
    • h: hour without leading zero (1-2 digits)
    • hh: hour with leading zero (2 digits)
    • n: minutes without leading zero (1-2 digits)
    • nn: minutes with leading zero (2 digits)
    • s: seconds without leading zero (1-2 digits)
    • ss: seconds with leading zero (2 digits)
